Psychiatric disorder could be happened to anyone, including children and adults. This regard was delivered by dr. Frilya Rachma Putri, a lecturer of Faculty of Medicine University of Brawijaya (FK-UB) as well as psychiatric specialist at dr. Saiful Anwar general hospital of Malang at Mental Health lectures, Friday (11/Dec/2016) at Widyaloka, University of Brawijaya (UB).

Frilya explained that one of forms psychiatric disorder is bipolar disorder. "In bipolar disorder, is known there are two symptoms, including manic and depression. Manic is marked by very high level of excitement, tends to be shopaholic and loyal to others. Meanwhile depression can be seen from sad condition without cause," she explained.

According to Frilya, there are several causes of psychiatric disorder genetic and brain health factor. "Psychiatric disorder is not only because external interference, but also could be due to heredity. If seen 3 previous generation there is a mental disorder, the situation tends to declined. There is also psychiatry disorder due to chemistry factor on the brain, there is a chemical imbalance in the brain," she said.

Bipolar disorder symptoms as form of psychiatric disorder, according to Frilya, such as injure another person, have a suicide effort, and hurt themselves. "If found people with such tendency, need to be aware and look for help by consulting to psychologist or psychiatric. In order to prevent mentality disorder, find life balance," added a member of Unity Psychiatric Specialists of Indonesia (Persatuan Dokter Spesialis Kedokteran Jiwa Indonesia/PDSKJI) at Malang.

The event of Mental health lectures was organized by Dharma Wanita Persatuan of the Main Office as routine agenda of Social Cultural and Education section, and attended by its members. In addition to lectures, the event also filled with discussion. [Vicky/Humas UB/trans. Denok]
