Three students of Faculty of Cultural Studies (FCS) Universitas Brawijaya (UB) namely Rahmi Febriani, Caesarilla Wahyu P and Mareta Sari Manda did a research related to Slametan Tengger. This ethnographic research-oriented research aimed to find a model of nature and tradition conservation and social cohesion based on Slametan Tengger. It is the output of PKM-PSH entitled "KONOSIS-KOSOSIS MODEL (Nature Conservation and Tradition and Social Cohesion Based on Slametan Tengger).
In their research, they found that the urgency of this ceremony implementation in Tengger is not just for the sake of religiosity, but there are deep perceived values. Some of the function of Slametan Tengger are to foster harmony, communality and unity in society. Apart of that, Slametan Tengger has also grown a conservative behavior towards both tradition and nature. Through the ceremony, indirectly, Tengger people have realized about Titi Luri by continuing to carry out traditional customs of Tengger until now. In addition, many offerings used in Slametan Tengger also encourage Tengger community to make efforts to save the plant population from extinction.
Thus, Slametan Tengger impact is then packaged in a model called the KONASI-KOSOSIS MODEL. If managed well and properly, this model will certainly provide a more meaningful contribution for Indonesia, especially in the problematic disintegration of the nation, the consumptive behavior of people towards the nature and the fading of cultural values.
