Civil Engineering Grabs 5 Award at 2018 Indonesia Bridge Competition
Competing in the 14th Indonesian Bridge Competition (KJI), the Civil Engineering Team managed to outperform the team from universities throughout Indonesia with five awards. In the annual competition which was held on 30 November to 2 December 2018, Civil Engineering Universitas Brawijaya assigned 2 teams, namely  Eunoia Team at Bow Bridge and Perwira Team at Steel Bridge.

Eunoia team that consists of Annisa Widia Kireina (S’15), Lyutasya Khowilya Teoh (S’16), and Julius Siregar (S’16) is guided by Christin Remayanti N., ST., MT., while the Perwita Team who was under the guidance of Roland Martin S., ST., MT., M.Sc, consists of Muhammad Farras Hidayat (S’16), Muhammad Rifat Azami (S’16), and Muhammad Alhadad (S’16).

Meeting the theme of the competition, "Nusantara Bridge is Innovative, Efficient, Aesthetic, and Environmentally Friendly", the finalists have made preparations for 3 months to attend the annual Kemenristekdikti event hosted by the Ujung Pandang State Polytechnic, Makassar.

Arriving in Makassar, the team presented the bridge in front of the judges on November 30, 2018. The Bow Bridge Branch Competition was held on Saturday, December 2, 2018, and the Steel Bridge branch held the next day, Sunday, December 3, 2018.

The UB Bow Team, Team Eunoia, assembled the Prince Orah Bridge deftly and skillfully as the second fastest after Yogyakarta State University in 2 hours 10 minutes. Meanwhile, the Perwira Team competing in the Steel Bridge branch was able to complete within 25 minutes 24 seconds, the fastest among other universities.

"Alhamdulillah, thanks to the guidance of lecturers and support from our crew friends we managed to compete smoothly in this year's race. Hopefully, this result can motivate students to be more excel and not be satisfied and be able to maintain and improve achievements in the upcoming competition," said Azam, one of the members of the Perwira Team proudly.

At the 14th KJI, the Civil Engineering Team, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya won the following awards:

Officer Team (Steel Bridge Branch):
- 2nd Winner
- The Fastest Assembly Category

Team Eunoia (Bow Bridge Branch):
- 1st Winner
- The Most Sturdy Bridge
- Implementation Suitability Category
