Women's singles badminton in 2017 UB Olympiads
Badminton match in a series of Brawijaya University Olympiads 2017 used Sudirman Cup system. Delivered by a committee, Elizabeth Putri Dipauma, There are five match parties namely men's/women's singles, men's/women's double and mixed doubles. With knock out system, the match follows PBSI (Persatuan Bulu Tangkis Seluruh Indonesia/Badminton Association of Indonesia) rules.

Took place in badminton field of Brawijaya University Sport Centre on Saturday (07/Oct/2017), the Olympiad match was followed by 17 faculty delegates and added by Vocational Program and UB Kediri.

Putri delivered, seeded for Brawijaya University match is Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Social and Political Science as well as Faculty of Administrative Science. "Last year, the final match of men's singles was very excited and finally was championed by Faculty of Engineering," said Faculty of Law student year of 2016. The player for Faculty of Engineering was Ahmad Rizalullah who is Bayu Kencana's athlete from Pasuruan.

Putri added, Most of all the players in the Olympiad are UABT (Unit Aktivitas Bulu Tangkis/Badminton Activities Unit) members. UABT is Brawijaya University's place of coaching either for athlete or non-athlete. "UABT has their own schedule. For athlete usually in Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays," she said. Particularly for the Olympiads, coaching and training are delivered to each of the faculties.

Recently, Ahmad Rizalullah from Faculty of Engineering is still being championed with his sharp smash and fierce game. In September 2017, the 2015 Urban Planning student grabbed runner-up position in National Badminton League 2017 in category of singles. [Denok/Humas UB/trans. Denok]
