Mental Health Program

Recently mental health program has become issue that more and more and even should obtain public attention. According to RISKESDAS 2007 report, the national prevalence on mental emotional disorder on Indonesians aged ≥ 15 years old is 11.6 percent. It means more than 14 million people suffering from mental emotional disorders. Therefore Ministry of Social Affairs of Students' Executive Agency of Faculty of Medicine, Brawijaya University held a Mental Health Program.

Mental Health Program is a working program of BEM FK-UB aimed to support a strategic plan of Ministry of Health namely UKJBM (Upaya Kesehatan Jiwa Berbasis Masyarakat/Community-Based Mental Health Efforts. The event held on Saturday (10/Dec/2016) at Faculty of Medicine of Brawijaya University. Head of Convener Dina Dwi Puryani delivered, the event was accomplished in order to celebrate International Mental Health Day which falls annually in 10 October.

In the event, conducted personality tests and mental health education for Senior High School students throughout the Greater Malang to detect mental disorders earlier. Afterwards conducted games in related with youth emotional with their environment and afterwards will be submitted to their own parents.

"For children who have potency in emotional disorders will be accompanied by a volunteer for further accompaniment," said Dina.

In addition, the event aimed to assist students for self-advancement, motivated to achieve their dreams and also directing their goals after graduated from school or choosing a major lecture according to their interests and abilities. [Irene/Humas UB/trans. Denok]
