Dean of Facuty of Engineering visits CITRA exhibitionCarrying a wealth of woven fabric Indonesia, Cita Nusantara (CITRA) is an exhibition of the work of the bi and tri-dimension of the architecture 2016 freshmen. The woven motive became their inspiration when creating the works during the Dimensional Design and Architecture Image classes. The exhibition is open to the public from 9 - 13 January 2016 in the Architecture Department Building of Universitas Brawijaya (UB).
Attended the opening exhibition is the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering (FT) Dr. Ir Pitojo Tri Juwono, MT along with the Vice Dean for Student Affairs Dr. Slamet Wahyudi, ST., MT. The presence of faculty leaders was welcomed by the Chairman of the Department of Architecture, Agung Murti Nugroho, ST., MT., Ph.D.
“Architecture without works is a just expression,” the Dean said in his speech. He also appreciates the achievement of students who held an exhibition independently.
“I heard forces 2016 raise funds by selling calendars and notes as well as other businesses. This was in line with the vision of UB, to be the Entrepreneurial University, good job, don’t stop!” he concluded.
As the youngest generation, CITRA is the inaugural exhibition of 2016 force. Their works during first semester all display for the public to be appreciated. Students are required to explore the wealth of local knowledge and also the shape of the woven fabric throughout Indonesia. Students then create a new innovative concept of their observations on woven. This was explained by Ir. Rinawati P. Handajani as the lecturer of Dimensional Design course at the opening ceremony, Monday, January 9, 2016.
The annual exhibition will be open to the public until the end of this week. Visitors will be spoiled with an evocative visual entertainment and live music presented by the students themselves. CITRA also have an interactive theme where visitors asked to give voting for most interactive works. [emis/mic/Humas UB]
